What am I reading?

I am currently reading "Wizard and Glass" by Stephen King - Book IV of the Dark Tower series. Back to the tale of Roland the Gunslinger and his companions!! I look forward to it very much...

  • I have been wanting to start reading The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, and I have started it once, but it is almost like the book jumps into a story that I am already supposed to know something about. I felt lost before it ever really got started!

    Any tips?

  • The first book is the hardest to get through - it is strange. And King does write like you came into the middle of the story - lots of terms without explanation.

But just slog through it and keep going. Eventually the lack of information becomes part of the draw - the history of Roland and his world comes out a dribble at a time.

But the series gets better and easier to read after the first book. (And very different.) So my suggestion is give it another try and don't worry if you don't get everything.

  • Maybe I'll pick it up after I finish Fool's Fate by Robin Hobb, which is an awesome 6 book series about an assassin's life.

    Thanks for the help.
