Review "One More Day" by Mitch Albom
"One More Day" is the latest book from Mitch Albom, whose other books include "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven."
This book is the story of a man whose life fall apart after his mother dies. He becomes an alcoholic, loses his job and family, and ultimately tries to kill himself. On that day he meets his mother again. The book is the story of that meeting, and what he learned from it.
What if you could have just one more day with some special person in your life who has passed away? What would you say? What would you want to know?
Similar to his other two books in some ways, this book is a short easy read. It is also deeply moving (like his other two books) and thought provoking. All three books provide what is (in my opinion) a good 'check up' on life. These are the kinds of books that I will read again, every year or two for the rest of my life, because they help me realize and remember what is truly important in life and help to shape my behavior to reflect that importance.
A short, enjoyable, moving book. If you don't want something sad and thought provoking then don't read it.
